Collectors call it the Beehive for its tall, stacked and ribbed bakelite base. The base holds the hand-crank magneto generator and the ringer, beneath Leich's square-top handset housing. This set has no dial: you turned the crank to signal the operator, and there's a "TEL. NO." number card where the dial would sit.

Features:

Black bakelite square-top housing and handset

Ribbed bakelite "beehive" base with hand-crank magneto generator and ringer

Number card window

Two-prong cradle

Brown cloth-covered handset cord

It's a great piece for an art-deco or magneto telephone collection, a 1930s–40s room, or a period film set.

Sold as-is and untested. It has not been tested or refurbished, and no guarantee of function is given.
