Model 211 Spacesaver

Northern Electric Model 211 Spacesaver, no ringer, 1930s-40s, works on modern lines when used with optional subset. Wall phones were once a staple product for telephone companies. Although not as popular now, they once found a place in most households.

Through the years Northern Electric made many different types of wall phones, from there early wooden models, to modern touch tone sets.

During the 1930s the need was recognized for a compact wall set that would not take up too much room in cramped settings like small apartments. This lead to the introduction of the Model No 211. Variations of this model continued to be available into the 60s.

The actual network components to enable connection to the phone lines and the ringer were located in a separate subset that was often mounted a floor level.
